Professionals with Disabilities
Few focused leadership development programs exist for professionals with disabilities, and those that do exist are often under the banner of DEI efforts -- with little understanding of true accessibility.
Disability Lead had a vision for a solution -- a two-day, online Leadership Summit, but lacked the in-house knowledge or skills to develop and launch what they hoped to become a signature program.
Variables affecting design
A key objective for the client was to be self-sufficient in the future, not relying on a consultant to plan and deliver future Summits. I considered these important factors:

The need for both internal support and buy-in from the board and members

Empowering the small staff to learn and grow their skills

The first year of Summit had to be powerful for professionals and financial sponsors – it had to be something they couldn't find elsewhere

Every minute of the event had to be deeply engaging and fully accessible for people with a wide range of access needs
